Default Belmar Party Boat RB

Saw the Golden Eagles report and it looks like they took the drive and went all the way up and passed the hook into Raritan Bay. I only know of a few circumstances that bass were caught in the ocean and they were in the up in the channels at Sandy Hook and off of Sea Bright.

Did they go up to Flynn's Knoll or even farther west into the bay?

They were in the fleet with the rest of us today west. We were commenting on how long of a trip that had to have been.

Yup, Rich does what he has to do to catch fish. Probably didn't have much of a crowd to pay for that ride & bait either.

I kinda would've been peeved sitting on a boat that long. That's why I stopped going out of point. Hour ride for fluke by sandy hook. So I just started going out of AH. Now I just yak it.

I think like you .. I simply live too far away, and I usually drive to the boats closest to the fishing grounds.. However, these boats, captains, and crews are in business because they have loyal regulars that will go out on those particular boats for a million other reasons.. Without these loyal steady customers, many boats couldn't stay in business.. If I ever move back close to NJ party boat territory, I would certainly take the bulk of my business to the boats I felt most at home on, regardless of its distance from the "Hot Bite" that particular week. bob

Things aren't always the way they seem. Sure, AH has the advantage right now with the fish up there but they're not exactly around the bend from them either. With the Golden Eagle running up at around 16kns vs. the slower AH boats, that cuts that time difference considerably. Maybe by only 20-30 mins and they will stay late to make up for it. Also more stern room and a bigger cabin. Like Bob said, wherever you're most comfortable. I've had great trips out of both places.

Myself from N.Jersey I would go out on a boat from AH. If I lived further south or west I'd probably hit the Belmar boats and let them drive. Heck I've been on Bogan's my whole life as it's really the only game in town in the winter. You got to do what you got to do. but I would rather be on the road the extra time, rather than a boat ride. But if your going for over 12 hrs it's nice to let the Capt'n drive while you sleep. Got to look and see where their chewing.
