Default The Keys

Anyone know of any good family places to vacation somewhere in the keys, for next week. And, of course, we would be doing some fishing Any insight would help. Thanks.

Marathon,
Fly into Key west and drive back up. Rent a car one way from KW airport and Drop off at Marathon air port if you don't think you'll need it.

Tons of fishing and family stuff, lots of good places to eat.

I guess the cruise is off ?? You are taking the family, right??

Beaches in the Keys are not all that if that is what the wife and kids are looking for.

I would suggest you do something like this in the Abacos.. Rent a home on one of the out Islands and travel by boat and golf cart.

http://www.hopetown.com/

You fly from most any of the Eastern Florida Airports to Marsh Harbor. Cabby takes you to pick up your provisions for the week... Jump on your rental boat out to your Island and spend a week in paradise.

Caution - This aint no Disney vacation so no choclates on the pillows or room service but I will tell you it's an amazing place to spend quality time with your family and I have lots of cool places for you to visit.

PS - The fishing is unbelievable too.. You just need to bring your own gear. A couple of 30s for trolling some "Islanders" and some Ballyhoo skirts and you are set.

VRBO.com rent a condo cheaper than a resort

Separate rooms

Kitchen for snacks and lite meals to save some $$

I stayed in Key West twice doing this

Chesapeake Lodge in Islamorada is a great mid priced option. Not as swanky as Cheeka but clean, nice dock, pool and hot tub for the family, right in the middle of the action with lots of dining options
