Default Ford Triton 5.4 Spark Plug Removal Tip

I know some of you guys have these motors and changing the plugs is a really bad situation. They will break off in the cylinder head if you even look at them wrong! And the Dealer gets like 800.00 to change them. Here's how I did it AFTER breaking off the first one, Buy FROM THE FORD DEALER ONLY. Not your local parts store. FORD CARB CLEANER AND TUNE UP SPRAY. Red and White can costs about 10.00 per can one will be plenty. Remove the coil. Then spray a good shot of it into the hole where the plug is and let soak for a bit. THEN CAREFULLY loosen the spark plug a little bit and spray and let soak again. The longer you wait the better. Then CAREFULLY continue to work spark plug loose and then tighten a tiny bit till you feel it loosen and then back it out slowly. Keep using spray and let soak as needed. I was able to remove the other seven without breaking a single plug or damaging any threads. It takes a long time to do them all but saved a TON OF MONEY! I Used a 3/8th's hand rachet and the engine was cold. The spray is like a foam that clings to the plug and cylinder head and breaks down the carbon that causes them to snap off. I was even able to wipe the carbon off the plug with a rag and when I was finished the stainless steel sleeves looked almost new. Then install new plugs with copper never sieze and away you go. If your not mechanically inclined I do not recommend you attempt this but I hope this helps out some of you guys out there and saves you some money!

I did mine a couple of years ago and broke several plugs, I have the tool and it removed the broken ones very easily, just takes a while. I lost about a pint of blood to the Greenhead's though, I'm about 30,000 mi from doing it again, not looking forward to it at all.
