12-21-2013 -- RVR then SB/RR
Scooped some shiners at Behre's and hit the shore at RVR from 7-10 on Saturday. Nada for me. Couple guys set up with bait before I got there had a few fish. A pair of just keeper sized bows and one guy had a 24" RVTA tagged bow in his cooler. I think he's the friend of cmoran...recognized his face from some pics.
Anyhow, left there as baiting and waiting got old. Headed to the South Branch and had immediate action. Lot's a fly guys above the Gorge--I didnt see any of them catch anything. I managed to land 4 bows, jumped a few off and rolled a couple of short strikes. Not a bad day though. TONS of turkeys calling all over the place, too. Here's a video of the fish I landed. Nice fish. Managed to get 3 Bows out of the gorge. Slow day for me. Did you find Bubba?

Nice! Hopefully it was in front of the fly guys LOL... No Bubba for me unfortunately. I had a decent fish on right where I was when you saw me. It got tangled up in some mono and braid that was hung up in some rocks. Shook free and i was left with a length of like 15 lb mono and 20 lb braid with two hooks on it... WTF... who fishes like that for trout?!?!??!
Got some time off the rest of the week and gonna try to get out once or twice more...

yes jigman that was my friend. They ended up with two tagged trout that day lol. though the bite was real slow so you made a good decision to swtich over. I personally need to start hitting up the river but I've just been enjoying RV too much. Nice catching man! We have to hit the water together soon! Gotta get those big breeders!

You guys def put your time in there and it pays off. I have a tough time waiting it out all day w/ the bait and wait, but it produces especially this time of year. I'm looking to head out thursday and/or friday after the holiday. Hit me up if you're around. Hoping the other rivers arent frozen like they were on Saturday. Should be ok after the crazy weather we've been having.
