![]() I have seen guys using both, especially the NY anglers, where these are made primarily, and they caught fish. I just bought some today myself for upcoming outings....hoping they'll give me the edge next time out...

![]() Used mainly in shallow water in Long Island for years..Lately some have been being used in jersey , but they are using the banana type jigs tipped with a Asian crab or a small piece of green...They ( meaning more then one ) have told me that they really work and the bigger tog slam the jigs..I don't bucktail or use jigs, only going by what I am told from reliable sources...

![]() FYI...we do sell them and as mentioned used in NY prior to hitting the NJ market. Feel free to our website for info and pics. As a side note we are less expensive than those mentioned and are a site sponsor. Guessing once NJ season opens like NY we will see more sales from NJ fisherman.
Any questions feel free to call and as always we ship next day! |

![]() How are u supposed to fish these? Do you bounce it like fluke bucktailing? Or just leave it on the ground unmoving? And how do you not get hung up on the structure or rocks every single time?

![]() Teddy, while I'm no pro here, what have learned quickly is to leave the crab down and only move slightly, maybe an inch or so up (not like flukin') You're trying to duplicate the crab natural movements to draw the bite! Tog Sharpies Input???

![]() Sam's banana jigs have been working for me for a couple seasons now and Sharkyispy is correct, only other input is to fish the jig as if it was for another species and not a tog, you have to put in the time to get the feel.

![]() Thanks. The below link has some good tips for fishing blackfish jigs. hope it works if you're interested. Seems like the theme is -- use as light of a weight as possible for the conditions, tip it with either asian or a piece of a green crab excluding the shell or legs to avoid bait stealers. Fish them on light spinning tackle with braided line so you can feel the slightest hits. Let the jig rest on the bottom very still, the bite will be a light tap. When you feel a second or third tap lift rod tip an inch to see if there is weight. If so, set the hook otherwise give it another minute and then try again. it's also recommended to use a Homer Rhodes loop knot. i guess it helps with the hook set. i would think this technique would be very difficult to use with rough seas. its prob more or less something you can try when its nice and calm unless you have experience
