You are the best judge of what your abilities are and what your boat can handle. If you have a doubt of either, don't go.

Great advice.... Keep in mind with a west wind ocean will be flat tight into the beach but remember, you first have to get to the beach and get back home. Inlets and I know Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook bays can be nasty in a west wind, especially when the tide is incoming against the west wind.

I experienced that last night fishing aboard the fishermen. still better than staying home and wishing I was out.

If I had a nickel for everytime I said.. "ehh it's not gonna be that bad"... I would be a rich man..

Key is if it stacked or not.. 3 ft'ers of sweel up to 5 - 6 arent bad if they are spaced apart and the oceans not a washing machine...

But if they are breaking or one another - it sucks... bigtime

Looking at the weather.. it's not to feasible to be out right now.. sad we have to think these days about wasting 150$ in fuel vs yrs past, you went out and it didnt dent the wallet as bad.
