Default Salmon River 10/11-10/13

Just got back from NY spent 3 nights camping at Browns. Was hoping to get to the meet and greet at Hopatcong with you guys but my buddies planned the salmon trip this weekend. Man what a trip, the river is loaded with fish. Over 3 days I probably landed around 40 kings, and probably lost another 100. I had one steely on that I lost and caught one broke back king that was pretty cool. Kid brother popped his salmon cherry and is definitely hooked. Fish caught on 8'6" med-heavy Okuma rod with 12# main line and 10# leader, using egg pattern flies and rubber eggs. Man what a rush fighting these giants. I might have to go to a doc this week, think I have salmon elbow, LOL
FISH ON!!!!

That fat B with the green shirt is Dawn from the Yankee angler. I told her to GFY on many occasions.

She thinks she owns the river because Mr. Barclay who owns the DSR supposedly owns the river down there, so because she (Dawn) owns the Yankee Angler she thinks she owns the river in front of her property.

She is a sicko for sure lol.

Crazy azz gets her azz kicked and then goes at someone else just down a ways. She got what she had comming. She started the show however she didn't get to end it her way.
Its been years since I've been up there. Far from "fishing". If you need to impail a hook into a fish don't call yourself a fisherman.
Yea yea yea, you all go up there and catch em right. How do you catch a fish that has not and does not want to eat? The ammount of "aggression" strikes everone says they get can not possibly equal the snagged fish.
Argue all you want. I've been there. Snagged my share but honestly tried to fish even with a guide who flat out told me these fish won't bite.
Now if you are fishing the river for chrome or browns that is another story.

Salmon bite (out of aggression) the first 24-36 hours in the river then they don't. That is a fact.

Most will argue that they don't and most guides up there don't have a clue. I watched a female king drop back and eat my stonefly nymph while I was targeting browns and steelhead.

I floss some fish but they do bite out of aggression. I only fish the DSR so you are right once they are farther up river they don't bite, but when the just come in off the lake they still bite out of aggression.
