Default Canyon Runner Wed/Thurs - 6 More Big-Eyes & 70+ Yellowfin

Capts. Mark DeBlasio, Dean Lambros, Greg Ryback and Craig Angelini got in one more overnighter Wednesday to Thursday on the Canyon Runner boats before sitting for some weather and to get geared up for the WMO. Well all we can say is this is unreal. They only fished with lines in the water from 5pm to 3am on the 60' Ritchie Howell and had 4 big-eyes to 250+ pounds and 40+ yellowfin (lost count over 40). The 48 fish an extra hour or so and caught 2 big-eyes and around 30 yellowfin. The big-eyes came on the troll and the yellowfin on the chunk. It's obviously no secret where we've been - the Washington is now our favorite canyon - sorry Hudson!

What made today's catch special is the 60' Ritchie actually fought 6 big-eyes at once for an hour before breaking one off and pulling the hook on a second then landed the other 4. The 48' Canyon Runner went 2 for 2 at the same time. Trolling 6 Canyon Runner Spreader Bars and 2 dredges on each boat plus Runner Lures, Joe Shutes with Ballyhoo and Melton Jets plus mixing in a few random stuff but when 6 come up and eat they eat whatever they want.

Mark, Dean and I are pulling together some of the numbers now that we can rest while fishing the WMO - but Mark thinks we have caught 7-8 big-eyes over 250 pounds in this string of fishing and close to half of the 42 we caught so far this year are close to or over 200 pounds. Never have we experienced a bite like this - not even close. Not to mention we've passed the 1000 yellowfin mark already between the two boats.

Can't say this enough - there are GREAT charter boats fishing out of Cape May and Ocean City, MD - if you don't have a boat of your own to get in on this bite charter one of them boys - you won't regret it.

We only have a few spots left open until the last week of August/beginning of September but give us a call if interested.
