Arrow Miss Belmar weekend blues report

Friday night, Captain Scotty headed out east of our inlet. Did a lot of looking around with no success. We covered a lot of mileage and saw no readings. It was a very bad night for everyone. The fish just did not want to cooperate.

Saturday morning, Captain Lenny headed out north of our inlet. Fished on sporadic bird life with some decent readings. We were able to pick away on each drift and ended up catching a few blues on each drift. Unfortunately, we did not catch what we saw.

Saturday night, Captain Scotty headed out with a nice crowd. Did some driving around to see if we could find a nice reading. When we first stopped the fish were very tight to the bottom. Once we got some chum in the water, they started to become active. We anchored up and picked fish around the boat all night. We ended the night with somewhere around 80 big blues in the 10-17 lb range. This is a major improvement over the fishing that we have been having recently. With the nice weather coming the fishing should just continue to improve. Our pool winner was Birdell Thornton from Newark, NJ with a whopping 17 lb blue.

Sunday morning, Captain Lenny continued fishing north of our inlet. Ended up catching a little better than Saturday morning, however, it was still a tough day. There was plenty of bird life and reading’s, we just did not catch what we saw.

This morning, Captain Lenny fished north of our inlet. Fishing was no good again. It was a terrible day of blue fishing and we ended up catching a handful of keeper fluke and some sea bass.

Sailing daily from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. & again from 7:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
