Default Potash Lake a bust last night.

Hey guys,

Fished Potash Lake for the first time with my buddy from the yak. Worked the edges with some senkos, spinners and some topwater. Nada. Had one hit on the senko and that was about it. Saw a lot of guys fishing from shore with not much success. Looks like it has potential though. Nice night to be out for a couple of hours. Any advice for next time in that body body water?. Thanks!

Potash Lake, wasn't expecting to see a report from there! Pretty cool little body of water with some weird characteristics. I landed a chunky 4lb LMB there on Rage Tail Baby Craw a few years ago near the dam. The shoreline near the canal to Pompton Lake has produced a few nice Bass for me as well.

You can get decent Crappie action in Potash. Small jigs get em when they are on with perch mixed in.

I like to keep you on your toes! Eventually I want to explore the Pompton Lake side. Being it was my first time there and it was later in the evening decided to just explore Potash up until the canal that leads to the Pompton side. Being I launched at the north ramp I was already in that area.

I appreciate the tips! Hopefully next time I will have some catches to report.

I guess the LMB catching is better on the Pompton side? I'd assume there are deeper holes in that lake.

I was fly fishing off the damn a few weeks ago and saw some schoolie lmbs on the river side of the damn, nothing fantastic... chased some gold bead woolies but no strikes...

did have a blast pulling in tons of sunfish and the trout were feeding off the surface like crazy. was fun to watch... only if i was in my kayak!

Every bass i catch in Potash has some kind of reddish lump/sist on it, has anyone seen this? same with the pike n bass in PompL.

Dam you DuPont. gotta be from that.

Always a strange place to fish. with those old rusted out pillars on each side of the lake.

LMAO... I misinterpreted your thread when I saw it......

I thought you were talking about an arrest or something when you said bust..... I thought someone was stealing fish or something
