![]() Guy is catching hell out here from many for keeping it. Almost all makos are released in So-Cal. Same captain had a 900 lber the week before. These big fish feed on seals and porpoise in Cal.

![]() Makos need to be around 600 pounds to reach sexual maturity. "Both male and female Shortfin Mako Sharks reach sexual maturity
at an age of 4–6 years. This corresponds to a total length of 200cm for males and 275cm for females". So this fish was mature & had the chance to reproduce. It will do a great deal of good being studied. I am sure Researchdude can fill us in on the importance of having specimens like this to study. The tree hugger in the story sounds like a real beauty. |
