Default West Branch Of Big-d Browns

Friend and I did a float trip on the West Branch on Sunday with my favoite Sweetwater guide. We slayed the Browns. Hooked over 50 trout, boating and releasing almost 40 on our 13 mile float. Most all were caught on #3Blue Fox spinners in silver. Water has hardly any stain and high. Spoke briefly to an older angler fly fishing as we went by and he reported "Caught over 30 ,all on Clousers. Best day I ever had" That says alot comming from an experienced senior. Sulfers and Green drakes in the air but few feeding.

Default Re: West Branch Of Big-d Browns

The west branch and east branch were unusually high this weekend due to the pounding of rain they got last week. With that said, many guys got into some great fishing as the fish were hungry despite the heavy flows from water spilling over the dams...they were crushing streamers and dries.

As one of the fly shop owners said to me this weekend, "you cant be scared of high water. You just need to be wise in chosing the spots you fish...from both a strategic and safety perspective."
