Thumbs up 8.5lb. Merrill Creek Lake Trout:

Gonna try to get Steve to sign on, he can teach us all a lot, a real sharpie. Not big on computers but loves to fish.

One pic from his recent outing.

Andy u know how to catch them.........12 dozen herring and lots of rods! Thats a beautiful fish, I love them big trouts

but seriously, theres rly 3 methods. Live bait either drifted or anchored up, u can weight them down or let them live line. Troll either flatline, dipsy/weights or downriggers or any combo. Jig em up w either live bait or your choice of tubes/swimbaits. And of course method #4 theres always dumb luck from the shore in the right place right time deal. As with all methods, the better your electronics and your equipment the higher ur success rate will be, and with MC as with other electric only waters, bring LOTSA good batteries for your TM lol

Actually there are several fishing methods to take big trout from any lake that stratifies below the 50 th parallel.
LB is one that many rely on to catch big trout , however the recognition of seasonal methods & how to apply those actually results in more consistent catches of bigger trout .
The most overlooked is fishing according to temps , if you do not master this you'll never get share of large trout.
I never believed in patking inone spot unless that particular body of water is prone to decent water being available in one region only.
