4/14: Wrath of the Wind Gods
I met up with my brother in Easton and we attempted to fish the Big D about 5 miles south of his place. Not only did we have to walk for miles before finding a spot we could actually access the river bank, the wind nearly blew us into space! It was just following the river valley like a giant wind tunnel. Casting was a chore, our faces were stinging, and we each lost lures in the trees. After a lot more walking than catching, we beat it out of there.
We then hit up a place called Giving Lake near Bridgeton. Lake looks AWESOME! Lots of stumps and stick-ups around the edge, rocky drop-offs, the whole place looks bassy. Well, looks can be deceiving, as after about two hours we had each only hooked up with one bass each, neither landed. Once again the wind started cranking, and it pushed us off the lake. Scouted around a little bit after that, and called it a day.

Now the sun is just starting to climb up over the treetops,
And it's gonna be a beautiful day, that's plain to see.
But I won't be around at all, so don't even bother to call,
Cause on a day like today there's one place I gotta be:
