Default Party Boat Angler Update

The last day we tried was Monday MLK day and we only had 7 people show up so we sent them to the Prowler. I wanted to sail as I had a good Idea on where the fish were and with the forecast of wind and cold weather I knew we would be at the dock for a spell. The biggest pain is there is no electric in the harbor so we must run the engines twice a day in this sub freezing weather. We have asked the harbor get us electric but they do not like the head boats as we take up commuter parking. They get well greased by Sea Steak. Fishermen always get the shaft. We will be not be sailing through this weekend with cold and wind forecast. They show it getting warmer next week and if it does get nice we will give it another try.

Times have changed. I remember sailing with 50 people on MLK day, 35 years ago. If we had the ling like last year or the ling and whiting like 35 years ago we would have had more than 7 fares. Also missing this year are the macks.

Thanks Captain George (come on Fluke)

Let's hope some of the billions in Sandy aid will go to getting electricity back in the harbor. Who's out there speaking for the fishermen?

When was the last time you crashed into the dock and sent 90 people to the hospital Captain George?

They better get things straightened out by Spring. The current set up will create a riot every morning! Many of those commuters are very disrespectful to us and take those parking spots even though there is a big lot just for them nearby.

Can't wait to catch them ling dingers!

@ JBird

I agree with you. Hurricane Sandy and the nor'easter held the harbor up. I've been fishing on your boat before in the summer. I felt very sad for the Atlantic Highlands Marina and how much damage. It was a nice harbor.

I hope as well that they get it all straighten out by the spring bc the current set up is a joke.. Its really sad.. I have fished out of there for a long time now and its just stupid the way they are handling everything..

I agree. Really want to go summer fluke fishing. Last fluke fishing wasn't too great. I only caught 5 keeper fluke (in NJ) in 8-10 trips. But R.I. is was great. For 3 trips, I caught 6 fluke and my biggest one (8 1/2 pounds). 6 fluke in 3 trips is excellent. Hopefully this fluke season would be better just like 2011.
