Day of the Dinks
I fished Peapack Brook and the North Branch for about five hours today. I caught about 60-70 fish, but nothing over 6 inches. I got a mix of chubs, sunfish, largemouths, smallmouths, rock bass, and one brown trout. Most hit a curly tail grub. Peapack Brook was low and crystal clear, fish were very spooky. I even saw fish spook from wind rippling the water. The North Branch was low too, but just a touch murky. Leaves are starting to get bad; by next weekend I imagine most streams will be unfishable. Only a few other people fishing today.

Re: Day of the Dinks
Hey Lard
A day of dinks is better than a day sitting at home. I can't wait to get out there and slap all those leaves off my lures. But, weeding through a few leaves can be very productive and I suspect you will manage it and report it. |
