Default 21" pickerel on 2 lb test line

Yesterday I caught a 21" pickerel with a 1/32 oz jig on 2 lb test line in Carnegie Lake. Another fishermen took my picture with his cell phone camera, then sent it to my cell phone. It was too big too attach to this thread so I'll try a link instead: http://www.myspace.com/my/photos/myphoto/59790787/Album. I got very lucky with pickerel on 1/32 oz jigs and 2 lb test line this year, landing 19.5" and 18.5 " fish in the Millstone River and the 21" in Carnegie Lake. Didn't get chopped yet.

Not trying to be an a$$ or to rain on your parade but Im curious as to how many poor pickerals you lost and that still have jigs/lines stuck in their throat and mouths suffering?

Used to fish for them with 4lb test all the time and was never cut off. Even when they swallowed something, the line seemed to stay right between their teeth. Only broke off a few big fish at my feet because I always forgot the net and sometimes they would squirm out of my hand.

"Didn't get chopped yet." in my original post means "NO POOR PICKERALS" were lost. I don't target pickeral while ultralight jigging and hook none most years. Your post is out of line and anti fishing. You don't know what an outstanding fishing achievement is. You need adult supervision before making erroneous posts on the Internet.

Ok buddy... some nice tough talk from behind a keyboard..... An outstanding fishing acheivement is landing a fish you dont expect or wasnt targeting on light tackle, but from your original post it sounds as if your specifically targeting pickerals on ultra light gear which is reckless and ignorant with no regards for wildlife safety and that is out of line and anti-fishing.....

Could be a line size thing. I like fishing the light stuff for them because they usually aren't exciting fighters.
