Default Variety day on the raritan

Started out at 287 bridge and wasnt feeling it plus there were snakes everywhere, next was queens bridge for a good pick of small stripers and smallies.Andy showed up and took me to manville and it was lights out action, picked away at smallies including a PB,caught rock bass, perch and trout.Every trip to the raritan has been getting better and better but still no walleye.

I have to get there...I was deciding between the raritan or pompon lake in my yak. Pompon won out, and I had a nice day. Got burned up a bit by the sun...but overall...a great day. Nice large smallies.

Man I have never fished this fishery am amazed at the repeated reports

Took a bike ride with the kids today along the path from ~Boundbrook bridge to the falls seeing only a few fisherman. Thoughts turned to the Andy S post of AN 8 hour drift down the same river. Not sure if my boat could handle those shallows, but have not explored the upper reaches and am curious.

Trout in Bound Brook, trout in Manville, Rutgers students PIT tagging fish, looks like a great recipe for trying a sea run brown trout program.
