Big Day at little swartswood and big swartswood.
Sunday may 20..... got a early start to an all day escapade to the swartswood lakes with 2 of my fishing buddies...
Got on the water at little Swartswood around 6:30am.. started with top water for the early morning but no takers and nothing active.. at 7am I went to senko "thin" worm texas rigged weightless and proceeded to nail Largemouth after largemouth (7 total) between 1 1/2 to 4 pounds.. My buddy went wacky senko and hit 3 total largemouth 3lb- 6 1/2 lbs..... my other buddy had a crappie (lol) and 1lb bass... smh We got off the water at 11am and went to lunch at the pizza place just down the road from the lake (awesome pizza)... We got back on the water at Big Swartswood around 1pm... I continued to use the Senko "thin" texas weightless and managed 4 more largemouth between 2lbs and 4 1/2 lbs... My buddy who hit the big 6 1/2 lb earlier didnt disappoint and hit another 6lb+ bass along with 2 other ones that were over 5lbs and 4 lbs respectively... my other buddy caught 3 rock bass LOL smh..... Got off the water at 6pm.... Great day, but back is killing me cuz its a small 3 person canoe.... I reorganized my tacke backpack and added some extra long needle nose pliers and wire cutters and I am glad I did. My buddy who caught the huge bass had deeply gut hooked 3 of them and I had 2 that were deeply gut hooked as well. I must of spent a total of 2 hours operating on these bass all together and I managed to save them all. I am really proud of myself for this because I am strictly C&R and I hate hurting fish and I do all I can to save them... I am really going to look into replacing all my hooks with barbless hooks because I really dont see the need to risk injury to fish if I am going to release them anyway... My buddy is sending me all the pics and I will post as soon as I get them... Last edited by flyboy1; 05-21-2012 at 05:51 PM.. |

Nice fishing man, can't wait for the pics! I really want to try walleye fishing Swartswood, but I may have to bring some bass lures as well now whenever I go!
