What a day!
woke up at 5:30 a.m. to do some local pond hoping. got to the first spot, fished about 2 hours and went elsewhere. didn't turn out too well probably from the recent cold snap. still ended up with a largemouth. tried a new spot i found on google maps. not much shoreline access but on the first cast something big took the senko instantly and bent the hook. after that nothing for a while but eventually picked up 2 small ones and left at 10:30.
took a break for a few hours then went up to the muscenetcong's point mountain stretch for the first time since winter (which was my first time there ever and ended up with nothing in 3 hours) but this time it was revenge . fished 5-7 and got 10 bows a brookie and a feisty 12" smallie that peeled 10 ft of line in less than 3 seconds. was using trout magnets a phoebe and power bait. exhausted as hell and need to take a break...for now |
