![]() So, I decided to bite the bullet after a previous company was acquired and there was some stock money coming in. I have always wanted a boat, but since I live in a condo, it's rather difficult. After tons of hours or research and drooling over the idea, the stock thing finally made that able to happen.
![]() Here's what the shopping list ended up being: 1. hobie i12s with all standard accessories 2. ram fly rod mount 3. scotty universal rod holder 4. 2 scotty tubes 5. scotty safety flag w/light 6. anchor 7. anchor trolley 8. ll bean paddle pants (gift card!) 9. stohlquist fisherman pfd 10. lip grip 11. kayak cart 12. leashes Now here's a question. Do I really need a splash jacket? I know i will if i'm out in the bay or out front any time not in july/aug/sept, but for rivers and lakes around here, is it necessary? planning on heading out in a week or two as soon as the yak arrives and I get all the stuff mounted and hooked UP! WOO!! |

![]() I'm sure the hobie is nice but
but I fish on a used $400 ocean prowler with an $80. fish finder 3 days a week all summer in Raritan Bay as well as ocean launches There is something to say for cheap as well. I never worry about scratches or beating it up in the surf. BUT DEF get a yak - I'll never party boat fluke again - catch more from the yak |

![]() I got the hobie at a demo price - so that's why i got it - and it's also the only option for my housing situation so i didn't have much of an option
![]() what kind of fish finder and does it work well? I'm still trying to figure out how I would wire a ff in the inflatable as I want a somewhat clean setup, but i'm sure i'll be able to figure something out ![]() |

![]() I would think that, as far as clothing is concerned........anything you put on....be prepared to swim in it......period.
For comfort....... wind resistant, waterproof and adaptable (able to layer with room to spare underneath) Safety First, have fun and catch em up!!!!!

![]() Absolutely! Thanks, TC! Looking forward to getting to all those unreachable places that I can always see, but can't get to on foot... and have spied on Bing Maps in all the lakes around here!
