Post Catfish in Spruce Run

i went to spruce run reservoir for the first time in late april.it was cold rainy and cloudy, i was going for catfish using shinners and nightcrawlers. first spot i tied was where the creek and lake meet right after pulling in the main entrance. not even a bite. so i moved on to a rocky bank on the main lake further up the road. after 2 hours there i got a few hits but nothing hooked.

its now mid summer, does anyone know of ways to catch them off the shore? i dont want to get skunked again.

Try some fresh cut bait on a circle hook/fishfinder rig. Mackerel, bunker, fresh chuncks of sunfish all work.

Start at sunset and bring some bug spray!

Try a stink bait or live blue gills.....don't be afraid to use bluegills up to 4 inches....a friend of mine use to fish there for cats all the time and he only used nightcrawlers and did quit well but never really caught anything huge..... try the live bluegills!
