Default Senko & Shore Access Questions

Not sure if this belongs here, but I think it does. What color senkos do you guys prefer for very clear lakes with some weeds. I used watermelon color with decent success this weekend, but I wanted to go with another color that might be a little more productive.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm also looking for a lake in north jersey with easy shore access because I would like to bring my mother fishing. I bought her a license and am not quite sure where we could go for some nice bass. If you have any thoughts, please let me know. I have access to Erskine Lakes, but is it as good as it use to be?

Thanks guys. Looking forward to hearing back!

I really think that any of the more popular colors will produce from shore or from a boat...its really just mind over mater...if you fish them with confidence you should produce...one of my favorite colors is bubblegum pink...watermelon is always a good color as is the one chaos mentioned, any thing with that green and black color combanation is deadly...another way I like to choose mine is will it disappear if it lays on the bottom...the same way I pick the colors of a jig I want to fish if I'm not usin the old deadly black and blue combo....sometime when I find myself thinkin about this type of questions I check out what bassdozer.com has on info...have picked up alot of good stuff from there and remeber to take it all with a grain of salt and adpate it to your situtation...tight lines hope I helped...!

Watermelon with redflake has been my go-to color. Some success with other colors but nowhere close to my standby.

everything that was mentioned will work as long as it is dark. stay away from bright. sometimes white will also, but that depends on the lake, activeness of the bass and clarity of the water. the senko is meant to be very suttle, remember, you want low contrast, the better you can see it in the water, the less of a chance you will catch a fish

there are actually alot of lakes easy shore acess, try munksville, shepards lake, you probably know but the lower lake in ramapo, blue lake in sterling forrest (my all time favorite lake) and ive just been introduced to haeldon resovior in franklin lakes which has alot of big fish. pm me if you want any info on fishing any of these lakes
