Beaver 🦫 Pond fishing 🎣
Went ultralight jigging in flooded 72 degree Sturgeon Pond this evening on a warm, sunny day with a west wind small craft advisory. The second bridge is falling apart. I was fortunate to successfully cross without falling into the water. Caught and released 6 black crappies, 3 bluegills to 8.5” and 2 largemouth bass with 1/32 oz Big Eye jigs and 1” blue flake twister tails on 2 lb test line. Lost 2 jigs on the bottom of the pond. Saw a big muskrat swimming nearby. Beavers arrived and slapped their tails on the surface of the pond. A Canada goose was sitting on a nest on one of the 3 beaver 🦫 lodges. Great blue heron, mallards, redwings, mourning doves and vultures flew nearby. I took lots of pics. Found 3 5 gallon buckets and a pendant while walking back to my car. Fiddle head ferns were growing in the woods. Didn’t see anyone.
