Default Friday night Gambler tank busting.

We had a good trip Friday night. Not bad going out but it got bumpy when we got there. Did one drift for a few Mahi then we anchored. Had fish on within a few minutes. The fish ate everything but jigs. We ended up with around 45 Yellowfin in 60-80lb class with the pool fish at 88lbs. These fish are tanks with us going through a couple of leader spools. They were Not line shy and we had three fish that we couldn't stop. 80 lb leaders is what I would suggest for these gaff breakers. The ride in was bumpy but got better the last 30 miles.
Capt.Mike put us on the meat and Capt.Walt, Jay, Kaden, Chris, and Leanne made the decks run red! I forgot that we had one longfin.

Thanks for the report, Pete. Tackle busting tuna, love it. Let's hope it holds. Encouraging to have a Longfin in the mix.
What's the chance of you going on a 36? Or do I have to wait for a Nov. 24hr trip to fish with you?

It was a great trip Friday night that started out with us picking away at the mahi for awhile and then the tuna started to show up slowly until around 2 AM when they showed up in force. At various times through the night there were at least six people hooked up at the same time. This of course is good and bad. Great to get hooked up but you always have the tangles that go with it. Such is life when fishing on party boats.

Captain Mike did a great job of putting us on the meat and the mates did a great job of trying to get to everyone. Their job was very tough with so many people getting hooked up at the same time. I got hooked up the one time and the captain came down to help gaf my fish. Thanks Captain Mike!

Unfortunately, my son wasn't as lucky as I was as his fish was gaffed and the fish went nuts and broke off his line and took the gaf with him to the deep!

Thanks again to the Captain and crew of the Gambler for another great trip! I will be back next year for another great adventure.

nice... we leave port at 2 AM tomorrow. Has there been any day action or has it all been nighttime bite?

Our fishing was through the night until 9 in the morning. The morning bite was a little slower than the overnight bite but the fish were bigger in the morning. I ended up with two 60# class, one 50# class and a bull mahi.

Good luck to you guys, tight lines!

Good for you, limit with 3 very nice fish. These yellows are the best tasting I've ever had.
So good to keep having great reports...let's hope it continues thru Nov. and maybe into Dec.. We haven't had a sustained night bite for a few...

Always willing to help...leaving my light gear home, taking the big boy gear, well, only down to 40#.
