Default 7/9-10-11 Fluking….

Hit 2 hours before and after high tide all 3 days. Solid fishing everyday. Kept it shallow 10-15 feet. Bait draggers out caught BT’s but BT’s were better quality.

2 man limit Sat, 4 man limit Sun, 2 man limit Mon. Found a line to work all three days and pounded it. Pink was the preferred color. Biggest went 24” and plenty of life to be had. Only one monster clear nose in the trash category.

75 degree water and clean. New weather buoy by Earle??? First I’ve seen it.

So on the fence with these new regs. Makes a hack like me look good with “limits” but don’t really know if that’s saying much. Curious to see what these regs bring as far as the fluke population is concerned in the future.

Just really digging the shallow water ultra light tackle thing right now. FWIW Pete at Atlantic has some killer, clean, big spearing that held up well all day w/o any blown out bellies

I’ve been doing a lot of ultra light/light tackle fluke fishing for several years now both from boat and shore and love it more & more each year. Really enjoy fishing back bays, rivers and creeks & drains. I don’t expect to catch doormats but I’ve caught enough over #5 (biggest #7.6) to know that the next bite could be a nice one.

Regs suck fishing Oceanside .
Every trip we are throwing back many 20-22” fish to look for slots .
And the slots we are catching are all between 17 1/2” and 17.99”

Giving up 66% of the rest of the age class fish we have available for those between 17-17 1/2 that we aren’t even seeing was bullshit .

It was about a select few wanting the longest season .
