![]() Striper fishing overall has been good this week. Yesterday was a little tougher; We saw lots and lots but they didn't bite that well. We still came home with a decent catch.
Today the bass were more agressive for us. Lots of fish up and down the beach under birds --and the birds were just the tip of the iceberg. Even when the birds were a 1/4 mile away, I was reading big schools swimming under the boat. The stripers were smashing through peanut bunker, so swim shads seemed to work best (we have those on board if you need them). Top water plugs added some excitement for the guys who could cast them out far enough. We didn't see any today but there are still some chomper blues in the fray. Most of our stripers were slot fish today, but there was still a good percentage over 28" --up to 33" If you see strong winds from the West, don't let it keep you home! We are fishing in close which means the water is protected by the lee-of-the-land. The striper fishing is good --now. Don't miss it. At the present time, the Gambler is sailing at just 1/2 capacity for your comfort and safety. Hope to see you aboard Capt Bob
