![]() Does anyone have any suggestions about where I can catch Spots/Lafayettes in the Monmouth/Ocean County area? I know they are around later in the summer/early fall but what about now. I'm assuming you can use a very small hook under a float or just a small split shot above the baited hook. Of course, there are those that are caught in traps which is how most of the commercial ones are caught. The trip to and from Delaware/Maryland to bring them back is just not a reasonable investment.
How about South Jersey? Does anyone know of any bait shops that sell live spots? |

![]() Adding to this: any recommendations on how to keep them alive for about 24 hours?

![]() A friend offered me a half dozen. I graciously accepted them and put them into my MD. Crab Trap. I zip tied some netting over the openings to keep them from swimming out. Then I submerged the trap off our floating dock. So far, so good. I've been able to keep them for two weeks with no problems.
