![]() Surf fished on and off the last 3 days with only 1 nice sized 21" fluke to report. It hit a SP- imagine that! I threw everything - plugs, poppers, jigs w/gulp, diamond jigs, you name it. I was staying on the third floor at a place in Ocean Grove on Fri and Saturday I saw a TON of bunker on Friday and Saturday. Multiple pods of bait all moving North about 1/2 - 3/4 miles off of the beach. I thought for sure I would hook up - nada. Some of the PB's were about 1/2 mile off the beach for a while before moving northeast to the grounds. I was surprised to see that much bunker this time of the year moving north. Any ideas why? Normal ?

![]() The last three years Raritan bay and areas around it have been loaded with huge bunger schools all summer long.
But don't tell the blue fish that if you like the bunkers. What do you think attracts the whales inshore? Views of our beautiful boardwalks? LOL
