I use a double Palomar knot for pretty much everything, strongest fishing knot on the planet in my opinion.

When I was first starting out I tied some weird knots that mostly worked that I realized were just sloppy versions of real knots that I didn't quite figure out yet haha.

Now that I've somewhat gotten into the groove of things and figured out what the heck I'm doing I typically just use an improved clinch knot for mono (adjust the amount of wraps depending on how thick your line is - more for thinner, less for thicker) and a "braid uni knot" for braid

What type of line are you using?

Braided line always gets a palomar knot. clinch knots will slip

Fluorocarbon and Mono as a leader get a clinch knot

Fluorocarbon and Mono as a main line will typically get a palomar unless the lure is large and/or has a lot of treble hooks.

With all knots be sure to get the knot close to the eye of the bait before cinching. Wet your knots to not burn the line. If you see curls in your line you need to re-tie.

Personally i am throwing spinnerbaits on a baitcaster setup with 14# fluorocarbon main line and use a palomar knot exclusively.

Duane, fluoro or mono to braid you use a clinch knot. Are you talking about using a barrel swivel in between. Otherwise how do you use a clinch to connect two tag ends? For braid to mono I've always used a double uni and never had issues.
