Hopatcong contest with the Boyz! 2/21/21

Hit the ice with Chase, Mikey, Rocco, Luke, Nick and MikeV. Awesome crew of Ice lovers. Set up the tip ups and flags were flying all around. I heard it was slow from other guys but I’m guessing they didn’t have any bait on there hooks. I just don’t know. I’m tired so I’ll keep it short. We basically chased flags all day and didn’t have much time to jig. The normal suspects came up through the icy holes. Smallmouth, LM, Yellows, Whites, Crappie and of course Slime Darts were caught on the magic baits. Chase got a nice ice jigging combo for entering a big Ole Slime Dart in the junior division! I’m proud of the kid as always. Thanks to the guys for helping me out while I was baiting tip ups all day. I truly appreciate it.

There’s lulls in the action here and there but once the fish started to chew again we started getting into some big ass BUCKETMOUTH Bass. I think Mikey pulled 4 out of the same hole. That’s not normal. I followed up with a solid 4+ lber after he put on his Bassmaster clinic. Crazy crazy power hour in the middle of the afternoon. Action slowed and we headed to Dow’s for the weigh in! Not many people showed up which tells me it was definitely slow everywhere else. Let’s see what happens! The club was still tallying up the money from 114 entries when we left so the waiting game begins. We might be in the money! Friggin’ fun day with Chase and the crew! The weather was perfect as well. What more can a guy ask for?!?! FLAGGGGGGG!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Yea you guys did well, congrats to chase on his combo win for that slime dart you and mikey put on a clinic with the bass but he got you by one once mikey got second and you got third in the bass category well done fellas.. It was good to get one of the contests in this year we have had lousy winters for the last two years glad people got out and fished on this great weather day as for not having bait on the hooks i had to keep checking the tip ups to see if the shinners were still there, a couple of times my tip up got robbed and i had to re bait that cut into my jigging time. I covered a lot of hard water today only to get 8 perch on jigs and 2 perch on tip ups. It was a great day to enjoy the time on the lake..

Nice day out on the hard water with crew...lotta fun and we ate like kings with plenty of fresh elk and venison. congrats to chase this kid was on point!!
