Big O tribs weekend 10-30 to 11-01
November is here and it is a time to play with better fish in lake Ontario tribs.
But to all who venture out, well water levels are pretty much reduced to a trikle in many places we have visited Managed to put additional 300 miles just visiting all the local spots and checking out situation.
With that in mind still managed to put up decent fishing. Where possible fish is stuck in estuaries with limited amount of them making upstream. Some places managed to hold fish, where to be honest i have no idea how they made it that far with amount of water that was in rivers. Visited pretty much everything from 18th mile creek to Sterling creek and it is a sad state of affairs everywhere. Hopefully planned releases from Erie Canal will get them much needed water.
Lots of browns were caught, some steelhead/rainbows and one very lost Atlantic salmon. How he managed to make it as far as it did we have no idea. Key to fishing was just to move away from crowds and search for fish where you would at least expect it. Most places we were at had zero people around us and would only rush in direction we came from after seeing the catch.
One of the highlights of the trip was actually seeing steelhead bumping into salmon to make them drop eggs. Nature at work and was a pretty interesting thing to see.
Put in your time and you'll get rewarded. Will update pictures later
