Default Got the tuna bug. Reel advice

Do did my first party boat tuna trip. Now I have the bug. Want to get my own setup. Look to hear your go to tuna reel . I will probably see Kevin Bogan for a rod but was interested in pros and cons of different reels. I think I want to stick to single speed but not set in stone.
Let me hear what you do

Thanks

Chunking or jigging. Avet Hx Raptor for chunking will beat any fish on the chunk. Jigging there is alot of options.

Most likely chunking but would consider jigging too

Consider purchasing a “new to you” Penn 30T or 30TW International. Have your reel serviced, whether at Penn or locally. Be sure to get new drag washers.

If braid backing is allowed on your favorite boat, put a few hundred yards of hollow core braid under a 100 yard mono topshot that you can change after every season.

Thumbs up Re: Got the tuna bug. Reel advice

The old International Penn 30TW, a reel workhorse. Fill it with 60 lb. Jinkai smoke grey.

The Penn Int. 30's are great reels. I use an older Avet EX 2/4 . It's closer to a 4/0 in size but it's a winch in low. I like the open top frame. I fish 100+ yards of 80lb with 80lb Izorline braid.

All depends on what you are looking to spend....recommend these two. Can't go wrong w either:

Alutecnos 30 wide 2 speed Gorilla....the best of the best.

Shimano Talica 25 2 speed
