Not to spot burn or any of the sort but is it permitted to fish any spots on Sandy hook beach area without paying? I wanna try out some spots around the surf area of Sandy Hook.

Thanks

Unless you walk or bicycle on to Sandy Hook you have to pay a parking fee until 8 September 2020.

I haven't been there in a while, but if you got in early before the toll booths open and you were going to fish - the ranger at the entrance would give you a free pass for fishing.

I go sometimes during the week after work, tell the ranger at the gate I’m going fishing, they usually take a quick look in the truck and see my fishing equipment and say good luck. I’ve gone about 10 times so far this year and haven’t been charged once. A few times I was there a couple hours before 5:00 pm.
Hope I didn’t just jinx myself!
As far as catching anything but small fluke and sea robins...I’m absolutely no help!

I have not had much luck on the bay side lately. Try North Beach, Fishing Beach or the Rip. Good Luck.
