Default Old orchard lighthouse

The old orchard lighthouse that was taken out by sandy. Was wondeing if the remnants offer a fishing location for say porgys and blackfish or is it so scattered that it really attracts nothing much. Just wondering. It was located kinda at the mouth of raritan bay.

Plenty of structure there.
It IS NOT at the mouth of the Raritan Bay.
it is outside of Great Kills Harbor going towards West Bank.
.

The Lighthouse closest to the mouth of the Bay is Romer shoals lighthouse

Old Orchard Light was a cast iron structure with a concrete/rip rap base. I read a story in the New York Times a few years ago about the Light. It said that the Light structure was broken into small pieces which became scattered around the remaining base. I never actually searched with my depth finder but I'd guess there's some structure there to fish.

The main rockpile is still intact and the debris field is spread from east to west out from the main pile for about 50-60 yds.

Porgies on the rocks and the open sand bottom to the the east. Had small cbass and tog along with croaker when warm.

Bring bug spray. The black flies are bitch.

I think many would disagree with your luck there. It does have the ingredients but not the numbers

If true would be phenomenal given Blackfish season is largely winter in the north Atlantic sea conditions.. aka almost always crappie
