Default Sandy Hook Surf Report 10/5/19

Went to the hook on Sat in search of porgies and bluefish. Spent a few hours on the Bay side bouncing around different spots with only seabass, puffers and one 3 inch Porgy to show for it.

Then made the call to go to the point and fish the rip for possible blues. Definitely found em. Birds working and blitzes most of the evening. Snapper sized blues with a few hickory shad mixed in. No albies.
Caught my very first Hickory Shad, so very happy to add that to my list. Between two people we landed 37 blues with many more hookups. Everything on kastmasters. Also hooked one fluke and saw somebody pull in a keeper Weakfish on bait.

The fall run action was non stop. Fun day on the beach!
