Default Outside Manasquan Inlet

Got a late start just to check out some work on one of the motors....not good ☹️. So drove around a bit found some bird activity. Seemed to be Spanish Mack’s mostly. A few bumps one landed in about two hours. Definitely sporty with the unforecast south blow. 2-3 was more like 3-4 with some 6’s mixed in.....oh well another day.

Not from the surf, although the surf was in great condition this morning until the wind started honking early. Plenty of bait in the pockets packed tightly in the wash. If you do the surf, find the bait (mostly mullet), tie on a small popper, cast parallel to the beach and fish early or near and after dusk. There are some resident stripers around........but only some. Don't get too excited yet.

The ones outside Manasquan were caught from a boat but also know someone who caught 2 from the sand just north of Shark River.

I caught striped bass, bluefish and herring on teasers at Manasquan Friday night and heard that weakfish were caught in the inlet. Lots of bait was there.
