Default 40+ lb striper 4/8/19

Had a great day out of Belmar on the Ocean Explorer yesterday..
we were going for blackfish when the stripers started breaking water!!
We switched over and BINGO!!
Got this beautiful cow... my personal best!!!

Would have definitely released it but unfortunately she was gaffed in the belly.

Curious, did you call for the gaff? Did the mate just gaff it without your consent? Did you want to release it, but he gaffed it anyway? Did they not have any nets on the boat? I think a mate should honor your wishes to release a fish, no?

It's a party boat fishing for Tog. You think they had a big clumsy fluke or striper landing nets on board?

It was posted as PROUD trophy fish caught.

Half these damn comments are trolling for problems on how 40 Lbs of fish got over the PB's rail and then what happened on deck .

Gerry was right about sanitizing these threads. Keep it positive or keep it to yourself.
