Default NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program

*REGISTERING IS FREE, QUICK, EASY AND REQUIRED!*
All saltwater anglers are reminded to register with the FREE NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program (NJSRRP) prior to fishing. Registrations expire on December 31 and must be renewed annually. Anglers who were previously registered but haven't renewed for 2018 should do so before fishing.

*Registrations can be renewed for 2019 beginning on December 15th.

Anglers with a valid license/registration from another state, or a NJ freshwater license, are still required to register with the NJSRRP.

Visit www.saltwaterregistry.nj.gov for more information or to register. To renew a previous registration, select "RENEW ANY REGISTRATION". Anglers or for-hire vessel owners/operators who have not registered with the NJSRRP previously should select "NEW INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION" or "NEW FOR-HIRE REGISTRATION" respectively.

Thanks Ramm and good luck with your surgery! Best wishes
Also there is This:
After registering, become part of the fishery management process!
Submit fishing reports after each saltwater trip to the NJ Volunteer Angler Survey. Your fishing reports, whether you caught zero or 50 fish, can help improve saltwater fishing opportunities in NJ. Scientists, stakeholders, public officials and many others all have a hand in making recreational fishing regulations. But if you’re an angler, the process ultimately revolves around you. What we learn from anglers is critical to understand the health of fisheries. You can have a real impact on our resources and how they are managed.
Report online:
https://www.njfishandwildlife.com/marinesurvey.htm
Or… fill out a datasheet, take a picture with your phone & email us:
https://www.njfishandwildlife.com/marinesurvey_faq.htm

I truly wish more fishermen / women would take part in this so our fishing reports are documented as we know ours are more accurate than guessing. Think it doesnt matter than think again as you see how the regs are going by guess work.

Lastly: Andy S if you need any help filling out the registry form let me know LOL

Exclamation Re: NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program

Detective Moscatiello and CPO Woerner conducted an overnight patrol along the Manasquan River in Brielle, Monmouth County that resulted in a noteworthy case. Acting on a tip, the officers concentrated their efforts along the railroad tracks spanning the river and began surveillance of three fishermen suspected of harvesting large numbers of undersized striped bass. Soon thereafter two of the fishermen packed up and made their way back to their vehicle where the officers were waiting to inspect their catch. Upon inspection, the two fishermen were found to be in possession of 31 undersized striped bass. CPO Woerner then went out along the railroad tracks and scooped up the third fisherman, whom was found to be in possession of 15 undersized striped bass. In total, 46 undersized striped bass were recovered from the three men. The fishermen were issued court-mandatory summonses for possession of undersized and over-limit striped bass.
CPOs Nicklow and Woerner conducted a boat patrol in the Atlantic Ocean, off Sandy Hook National Park. The two officers acted in response to numerous complaints regarding vessels traveling from New York and fishing in New Jersey waters for tautog and black sea bass. The officers inspected several New York-based recreational vessels and found numerous violations. More than a dozen summonses were issued for the possession of sublegal black sea bass and tautog, as well as for over-limit on both species. Additionally, NYDEC was notified of these violations since many of the fish recovered from these inspections would have also been illegal to possess in New York.

Question Re: NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program

Why bother when both recreational and commercial fishermen are raping the oceans ?

Lightbulb Re: NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program

Detective Moscatiello wrapped up an investigation involving a New York-based commercial fishing vessel that was suspected of landing tautog in New Jersey without the proper permits. After reviewing months of documents, Detective Moscatiello charged the owner / operator of the vessel with two counts of landing tautog in NJ without the proper permit and two counts of landing tautog during closed season. An additional violation involving the net mesh size used to harvest summer flounder was also uncovered during Detective Moscatiello’s investigation. As a result, the owner was also charged with using an otter trawl with a mesh size smaller than minimum size for summer flounder.

Uhhh........yes poaching is illegal and wrong. Your response seems to be just the TINIEST bit misguided? I see nothing that indicates that these men were here illegally. If i missed that tidbit of information I'm sorry. Just wanted to double check you weren't reading hispanic sounding last names and automatically assuming that they were here illegally.

Because that'd be a pretty racist assumption.

But..but..but..... Caravans.

Also. Like Andy said, it's all the commercial and rec raping of the fish biomass thats the problem. It's not just those damn immigrants.
If you find this hard to understand, here's a simple analogy. Huge Fish retrieval companies rape 80% of the ocean. Then they point out, hey, look at those immigrants over there illegally poaching. The impact of their poaching on the environment is only 1% of what our companies do, but look at them!!!! They're raping the ocean!!!

Point is, you're getting disproportionately mad at the wrong guys. Focus on the real problem. They're trying to divide our attention onto these useless, minor issues, when the big problem companies are still out there doing 10x the damage any of us can do collectively. What the hell does it matter if we stop 10 poachers who harvest 1,000 lbs of fish, when we got huge ass boats out there harvesting 100s of thousands of lbs per DAY, per BOAT.
