Unless you could pick and choose the days you could fish during the week, the weekends were far from optimum. There were some windows to get offshore on the weekends but not too many if my memory serves me right. It was hard to put together two good days in a row on the weekends for any kind of fish.
So, wind and rain?..........Yeah, we all share your pain. The crummy weather started in the spring and kept right on going through the summer.
