SHHHHHHH this was a secret!!!!!!!!

they really do taste just fine, it's just that you get such little fillets off of them vs their size

I caught, tagged and released a 19" robin n Manasquan Inlet this year.

BIG Robins have been plentiful....Fluke...meh! Ling use to be uneatable at one time. Might be time to give them a shot! 5 years from now new regs.... 3 robins at 19"..

I think they should slap at least a bag limit on robins. Do it before the bucket brigade catch wind of how tasty they are...and god forbid the comms start netting them in force.

From a culinary perspective...there is absolutely no --- zero --- reason people should shun robins for food. They are delicious.

Take the tail, bone-in, rub some olive oil over it. Salt, pepper (lots of salt!), pop it on grill. Roll it a quarter turn every minute until done, approx 7-10 min on a hot ass grill, depending on size of tail. Squeeze lemon juice, more EVOO, done!
