Default Ocean Explorer Blackfishing

12-29-17 Bitter cold,,,not to windy at least,,,Today was a day that most would stay home due to the cold...Some I know for a fact woke up and said no way and did not come down..Well if you if you were one these people you probably do not want to read the rest of this report...Because we had the fish chewing,,and the fish were large.......Right out of the gate we had nice fish coming to the net..Made a bunch of different drops in different depths just to get some fish going and some paid off including some old spearfishing drops I used to frequent alot..Some of these old pieces including one old boiler has some of the biggest fish I ever saw underwater but almost never get them to bite on a hook...But today we tried it and they were ready....it held 6,7,8lb fish,,,Had one 12lb.come to the net.....then we busted off a fish over 20lbs that dove down and took a run and broke the leader....Eventually we netted a fish for Randy that went 17.6lbs...So overall we had an impressive catch of big fish onboard including that fish that is the new seasonal pool leader..But I like what I saw today and plan on targeting these big fish the rest of the winter....Its gonna be a good run for the seasonal pool this year and I think today's fish can easily be broken..Check out some pics,,have some good videos on facebook as well..See ya tomorrow..we are fishing offshore everyday for Blackfish including New Years Day leaving at 730am...So pic a really nasty day out and come on down and take a shot a large one..See ya tomorrow..

Nice catching Capt. Bobby! Mikey must have been busy all day.
