Default Canal Tog

Fished the Pt. Pleasant Canal a few times over the past several days. I try to arrive about a hour before slack and fish through the slack into 90 minutes of the next tide. Some days the bite was better during the slack and others better with some moving water. Been able to catch my limit each trip with the biggest going 16.5”s.

If I was Fishing there tomorrow, I’d be there by 12:30 and fish until 3:30.

Thanks for this very informative report! I have been meaning to try the canal for tog.
May I ask, without mugging anyone's spot, where the public access sections are for the canal?

There are many public access points along both sides of the canal. Some of the more popular ones are near where the two bridges cross over the canal.

No, I know the spots Cliff likes to fish but the spots I prefer to fish are on the opposite end of the canal.

Went again today. Fished the same spot and same stage(s) of the tide. Bite was furocious (even had to make a run to reload on bait)-only thing was they were all between 8-12 inches.
