Default Thanks Capt Freddy -Andreas Toy-Got the Mako

Big thanks to Capt Freddy on the Andreas Toy. Took a trip with him a few weeks ago and he was the greatest Capt I have been out with. He taught me a ton about sharking and was very willing to help and share. Well, the advice paid off for us newbies again! Got a 7ft Mako on our own with a 50" girth. Scale was down at Bahr's so we could not get a weight. Not bad for the newbies!

Many fish a long time, countless trips, for a shot at a mako like that. You guys certainly hit the ground sprinting in regards to shark fishing. Putting your time in this season is certainly paying off. And kudos for hiring a professional. Hiring and fishing with a seasoned captain who educates clients willing to listen, watch, learn and absorb is worth its weight in gold. So many things need to go correctly in order to land big fish and big sharks. Being prepared and having a system from set up to end game is critical. Working with a good charter captain can aid in expediting this process significantly. The proof is in that glorious mako. Congrats Gary and crew. Hope you saved the jaws!

Nice job on your catch!!! Quality shark. Capt Fred is always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and experience to the student(s) who want to learn. I learn from him on each trip still today, some many years later after my first trip to the Hudson with him......Great to see it's paying rewards for others also.
