Smallies with the kid and my buddy the pike

Can’t get out Muskie fishing like I use to so I invested in a nice backpack to introduce my son to our passion and wet some lines. Waded some of my favorite holes on the south branch and racked up on some fun smallie action. I posted here 2 years ago about seeing a pike on the south branch with a jitterbug stuck in its mouth. Well I was fishing in the same stretch and noticed a nice esox silhouette tracking my jerk bait. I tried to get her to eat but she was lazy. She stopped and sat in front of me and I noticed a nice white scar on her lip. Even with all these floods she never moved to far. Pretty cool to see her again and know she got rid of that jitterbug. Also have been hiking a lot and brought my son to a special place. I know FASTEDDIE will appreciate the pic. We are some lucky fellas to be able to enjoy the beauty this state has to offer and pass it down to the youth.
