Default FISHERMEN/RFA Trip Report....8lb 12 ounce Fluke takes the money!

FISHERMEN/RFA Trip Report....8lb 12 ounce Fluke takes the money!

Today we had Dave Daley and the crew from the RFA out with us once again. Lousy weather, a huge swell, fog & some rain didn't dampen the spirits of these guys! Had to wait for the change of tide for the bite that we did have to start.

Some very nice keepers through out the day with Jeff Criswell, Flanders, N.J. taking top honors and the Money with a Beautiful Eight Pound, Twelve Ounce Monster. His second fish also came in at Five Pounds Five ounces.

Second Place was another fish that made just over Seven pounds along with another Five in the cooler. Couple guys had two and one, some had a bunch of shorts. Surprised we caught anything in the Ocean with that swell all day but the bay has been dead for us..

Back at it for Fathers Day Tomorrow!!

Big thanks to Capt Ron, Joe and Jimmy for a great day on the water. Dave did a great job as always setting this up. Typical RFA trip great people, lots of laughs some fish and lets not forget the rain. Can't wait till next year.

Was great meeting many of you on yesterday's trip. Great group of guys. Congrats to Jeff on a quality fish under tough conditions. Capt. Ron and crew, it's always a pleasure sailing with you, as Eddie mentioned you have one gear which is maximum effort and yesterday was no different. Thanks for the effort and running a top notch operation.

Yesterday's trip is precisely why associations like RFA and SSFFF are important to support and recognize the work they're doing on our behalf. To protect and preserve our God given rights to enjoy this resource and support the second and third generation families who depend on it for their livelihood so trips like yesterday's are possible. Dave a huge THANK YOU for all the effort and conviction you put in to help our cause, we should have presented you a plaque yesterday in recognition of your on-going efforts. Gerry as the saying goes, this site is "the straw that stirs the drink" and brings everyone together so a big hats off to you sir as well.

Hope anyone who tried the sloppy joes enjoyed them, good little sandwiches! Look forward to the next trip! Happy Father's Day to all the dads on the site!

Someone mentioned those Sloppy Joes to me, I had a square and I'll tell you one thing, had I not had a 1/2 a tuna on the way out....that whole baby would have gone missing!!! Awesome Sandwich, the whole mix of Turkey, Slaw and excellent bread, where did it come from? I'd drive a few miles for that one....

Thanks to Ralph from Slater's Deli for providing lunch for the crew and my Tuna Sandwich, good karma right there Ralph. It will come back in Spades as everyone on this trip knows who you are!! Slater Sliders direct from the Jersey Shore.

Capt Ron,

The make them at Town Hall deli in South Orange off Valley Road. Place has been around since 1927, their Sloppy Joe sandwiches are famous. Yesterday's were ham and turkey but they make a variety of other combinations. So good! Next time I come down I'll pm you in advance and bring a few down. One of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had.

Thanks again for a great trip and all your contributions to this site and the fishing community.

Tom
