Default Mono for a "non-casting" situation...

Whats your choice? I'm talking about from the boat. Chunking, bottom fishing, livelining......

Braid is generally favored for all applications sans very shallow / clear water situations . Having said that I still prefer mono in most freshwater situations.
Simply adjust length of top shot / lb test per species .

The reason I ask........99% of what I have is braid, only some of my offshore stuff is mono..Jinkai Smoke.

Looking to put together a few chunking and bunker liveline setups with mono. Curious to know what some here prefer.

Offshore I've used Cajun Red(30&50#), Ande(30,50,80#), also Jinkai smoke and now Izorline(last 2 years which I really like)... None failed...Don't know how much help that is...I kinda think it's the anglers comfort choice...These were all 100-200yd top shots with braid backing....The Cajun Red & smoke were near impossible for me to see at night which is why I switched...Last year I used 25' fluoro wind ons(40&50#) with fluoro leader and swivel and will again this year...hope that helps...
