Default Ice bibs -- what's your recommemdation?

What's up fellas? I've started day dreaming about ice season. Spent a few hours last wknd corralling jumbo baits. I know, I know. It's 50+ degrees out and open water is still producing. I'm all about preparation though! (And xmas!)

Anyhow, was wondering what ice bibs you guys use or have used during your time on the ice! I'm looking to get a waterproof pair with buoyancy. Let me know your thoughts! The snowboarding pants ain't cutting it another season...waterproofing wore off and theyre heavy!

Striker ice! Great quality, floats and extremely warm. I have the predator bibs and coat. I fished in -25 wind chills last winter and while dragging the sled I had to unzip the coat to stop from over heating. Most days I would carry out the coat and keep bibs unzipped while walking out and getting set up then would zip up and throw the coat on while jigging and watching tip ups and we're extremely comfortable the whole season

Was just looking at that exact series of products. Do the sizes run true? How are you layered underneath? The reviews seem pretty damn good..

Going into my second season with Frabill I2's...If they kept me warm through last winter, I'm gonna assume they will be good to go for a while. They are light enough to serve as cold weather bibs with jeans on the boat, add a layer of thermals underneath and they were toasty and dry on the ice last year. What ever you get, look for knee padding with reinforced material over the knees.

Subscribed. I'm in the market for a good pair that will last too.

Depending on the day. Most days just jeans, colder days I'll throw on a pair of long underwear but I always figure I rather be warm then cold since I can always unzipp.

I'll double check on the size but if my memory serves me right they run on the big size. I wear 30x30 jeans and typical wear medium on most bibs but believe I ordered small from striker, lots of reviews on here if you use the Search function

Thumbs up Re: Ice bibs -- what's your recommemdation?

Arctic Armour, Frabil and Striker would probably be the best. I don't have any of these because my Columbia gear is quite comfy warm and waterproof.

Oh man, oh man! All this talk about ice gear/ice fishing has me thinking all crazy again! Hmmmmmmmmmm!?!?

Anyone interested in a 2016
ICE CONTEST????????????????????

Got Artic Armor bibs and Jacket for Xmas last year. Very warm, lots of pockets and the knees have good padding. Found them discounted heavily so if you can get 30%+off its well worth the price. I'd say a bit bulky but them layers are what floats em I guess, sizes run true as well. Good pair of boots, thermals and your very warm
