Jersey Nutz Weekend Bass Report *Bass to 35lbs

We had a great trips Friday through Sunday with the exception of a very slow trip Saturday afternoon. All fish were caught south of Manasquan on the troll with the maja spoons.

Friday we left the inlet greeted by tremendous fog which made it tough to spot bunker so we slowly made our way to where we had them the day before. When we got there we played with the livies for a little then got told by a buddy to hit the troll so we did just that and a minute later we were hooked up. Trolling in 25-30 feet of water for the rest of the morning was non-stop action on the bass up to 42 inches. Easily had our limit of unders and released several more to swim south. Had four guys on the boat that caught their first bass and had the time of their lives.

Saturday we left the dock late which meant we missed the bite and that's basically all we have to say. A couple bites on the spoons but other then that it was very slow. Some people had 1 or two bites in the afternoon but there was no love for us. Eric and his son were great and knew we worked hard.

Sunday was a completely different story! We were on the grounds(a mile south) by 6:45 and had the first fish in the boat at 6:50! Charter had the limit of unders by 8 and we had Non stop bass until 10am on the troll and then blues mixed in. The bluefish were very thick and all of 15-20lbs. We still picked bass until 2pm but mostly blues. Ended the day with 13 bass to 42.5 inches and 15 blues. Great fishing!
