Independence Day Bass
I met up with a couple friends this morning to see if we could celebrate the birth of our nation with some fat, greasy bucketmouths. The first stop was Mike's favorite spot, a small pond, which looked more like a sloppy mud-hole to me. However, it didn't take long to reveal that bass were present, and we received numerous violent strikes on topwater frogs. After we thoroughly combed the pond, we headed over to Prospertown Lake, which had been on all our radars for a while. Mike and Joe headed across the lake in the canoe, while I stayed on shore. I managed one bass on a senko, and Mike managed two pickerel on a spinnerbait. Joe, unfortunately, came up with the goose egg today.

Now the sun is just starting to climb up over the treetops,
And it's gonna be a beautiful day, that's plain to see.
But I won't be around at all, so don't even bother to call,
Cause on a day like today there's one place I gotta be:
